Longtime Putnam Resident Peter Milano Dies at 78
The family has requested donations to a local church instead of flowers.

Peter Milano of Brewster died Oct. 30 in Carmel, at the age of 78.
Mr. Milano was born Feb. 18, 1933 in Mt. Vernon, NY, son of the late Louis and Theresa (Spear) Milano. He was an altar server at Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church in Mt. Vernon, attended Edison High School then served three years with the Army as a drill sgt. then in the Korean War. On June 4, 1955, he married Angela Rocco in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Mt. Vernon. He was a police officer in Mt. Vernon for 20 years before retiring in 1979.
Mr. Milano had moved to Brewster in 1964 where he became a member of . He owned and operated P & L Cleaning then Milano Maintenance; he did security on the Hemsley Estate and for TWA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Brewster, Council #1492, and the Italian American Social Club in Brewster.

Besides his wife Angela, he is survived by his six children: Theresa Santoro of LaGrangeville; Louis Milano; Peter Milanol Frank Milano; Christopher Milano; and Angela Morelli (all of Brewster), 20 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Constance Milano.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church.
