Loud Muffler Plus Suspended License Plus Outstanding Warrant: Arrest on Route 52
The Putnam sheriff's deputy pulled a car over for the muffler and everything else came up on the computer.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Dutchess County man in Kent on Feb. 20.
Jermaine J. Evans, of 3875 Route 52 in East Fishkill, was allegedly driving with a suspended license and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest when he was pulled over for a traffic violations.
At about 12:27 a.m. Monday, Deputy Sheriff Eric Hayes was on patrol on Route 52 in Kent when he pulled over Evans’ car for having a loud muffler. Upon running a computer check, the deputy determined that the Dutchess resident’s license had been suspended. The deputy also learned that Evans was the subject of a bench warrant issued by the Town of Kent Justice Court in reference to a case being handled by the Kent Police Department.

The deputy arrested Evans and charged him with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor. The deputy then turned the 29-year-old over to the custody of the Kent P.D. for further action on the bench warrant.
If found guilty of the suspended driving charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
