Man Arrested With Cocaine, Cash: Putnam County Sheriff
He had cocaine in his car and home plus $14,000 in cash, a scale and packaging materials, police allege.

SOUTHEAST, NY β Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrest of an alleged drug dealer in Southeast. In December 2017, a deputy assigned to the Sheriffβs Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit developed information about cocaine sales throughout the county. Sulaiman S. Sayegh, 50, was identified as a suspect.
The NEU initiated an investigation into Sayeghβs alleged activities. Police said they bought cocaine from him on four separate occasions in Southeast.
At about 6:30 p.m. Jan. 23, members of the Sheriffβs Office NEU and road patrol/K9 teams located Sayegh driving on Putnam Avenue in Southeast, and took him into custody. They allege they recovered cocaine from inside the vehicle, which at the time was occupied by a child younger than 17.

Police said a short time later, Sheriffβs Office members armed with a search warrant seized a quantity of cocaine, packaging materials, a scale, and more than $14,000 in cash from Sayeghβs residence on Eagles Ridge Road. Also seized were two vehicles used in conjunction with the sale of the narcotics.
NEU supervisor, Senior Investigator Thomas Corless applauded the efforts of the members of the NEU for their quick actions and successful investigation concluding with Sayeghβs arrest and a halt to his alleged illegal activities.

Sheriff Langley remarked that in addition to the swift pace of this particular investigation it is also one of the largest cash seizures in recent history in Putnam County.
Sayegh was charged with four felony counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, five felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, two misdemeanor counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, one misdemeanor Count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, and one misdemeanor count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
He was arraigned by the Hon. Judge Richard Vercollone of the Town of Southeast Justice Court and remanded to PCCF on $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
