Memorial Day Parade, Ceremony in Brewster

here are details, from the VFW post newsletter

From VFW Post 672 May Newsletter:

On Monday May 30 we will gather again to remember those who sacrificed their lives in defense of our Country.

Memorial Day is a day which all of us served and came home, must come out and lead the way, setting an example for the community around us. While we will always remember we must ensure that everyone remembers the day is not just about the unofficial start of summer, shopping, opening the pool and picnics.

It is a day to take time to reflect on the sacrifices and to remember that those who died did so in part so that we could do all of the fun things associated with the long holiday weekend.

Please join me as we muster for the Parade in front of the Brewster Fire Department. Please arrive by 10:30 as lineup is at 10:45 and step off is at 11:00.

The ceremony begins once all of the marchers have made arrived at Veterans Park (Electrazone).

Our keynote speaker this year is John Bourges. John is a retired NYPD Detective and a Veteran of Iraqi Freedom. He is the director of the Putnam County PFC Joseph Dwyer Vet 2 Vet Program. I have heard him speak previously at Veteran events and I promise you that you that what he says will move you and you will remember his speech.

I hope to see all of you there to honor those who did not come home.
