Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes Westbound I-84 in Orange County

The DOT has recommended a detour.

Montgomery, NY — One person is dead and several others others are injured as a result of a multi-vehicle crash on I-84 near Stewart Airport.

FIOS1 News said four cars and two tractor-trailers were involved in the crash which happened in the westbound lane around 12:30 p.m. and the lanes will be closed until at least 9 p.m.

The state Department of Transportation posted on 511NY.org that both westbound lanes are closed east of Exit 5.

The agency recommends detouring at Exit 5A State Hwy 747, to State Hwy 17K to State Hwy 211 and back onto I-84.
