Richard K. Reed, age 59, of New Fairfield, CT—formerly a lifelong resident of Putnam Lake—died June 10, 2012 at his home.

Richie was born on Jan. 18, 1953 in Mt. Kisco to Martin and Helen (Patterson) Reed. He graduated from .

Richie married Diane M. Shay on Dec. 29, 1979 in Greenburgh. He worked as a concrete foreman for the Laborers Union Local #235 out of Elmsford for 32 years, retiring in May.

Richie enjoyed life. He was a dedicated family man and true friend. Always there for a friend or family member. The kind of guy who would give you the "shirt off his back" without a second thought.

In addition to his love of cars, Richie enjoyed deep-sea fishing and hunting.

Besides his wife Diane, Richie is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Shayne and Kelly Reed of Newington, CT; and a brother, Peter Reed of Pawling.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church in Putnam Lake. A private cremation will follow. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Beecher Funeral Home (located on Putnam Avenue in Brewster, (845)-279-3615).
