On the first legislative day of the year, NY Chapters of Moms for Liberty joined a thousand other New Yorkers at the state capital to rally in support of Medical Freedom, Parental Rights, Restore Religious Exemptions and to oppose legislation that seeks to require the COVID vaccine for schooling in New York State.
Moms For Liberty joined the groups Children’s Health Defense, NY Teachers for Choice, NY Informed, Autism Action Network, My Kid My Choice, The Peoples Convoy, and Unmask the Kids-New York, to gather, meet with their state assemblymembers and senators, and to voice their concerns regarding legislation that would require COVID-19 vaccination and other proposed bills that seek to eliminate parental consent. Many New Yorkers have been writing and calling the Governor and their local representatives to express their opposition to a host of proposed bills in the New York State Legislature.

Last year Assembly Bill A8378 and Bill A3091/S3041 were of particular concern to parents. Assembly Bill A8378 would require immunization against COVID in order to attend school. Bill A3091/S3041 would permit any child who is at least fourteen years of age to consent to immunization without parental consent. Moms for Liberty is opposed to these bills because parents need the freedom to make medical decisions for their children without being coerced or mandated.
While these bills did not pass last year, Moms For Liberty remains vigilant for similar bills that might be introduced this year.
