Overnight Frost Advisory For Orange, Putnam Counties

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for Orange and Putnam counties because temperatures will drop into the lower to mid 30s overnight.

The advisory is for New York, Orange and Putnam counties, as well as northern Fairfield County in Connecticut and western Passaic County in New Jersey.

It's in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. That could mean lettuce and other cold weather vegetables; even, since the unseasonable warmth of early April caused many shrubs and plants to bloom early, some trees, shrubs and perennials could be at risk.
