Patterson Man Arrested After Car Crash, Family Fight

Alcohol was involved, according to police.

PATTERSON, NY — A Patterson man faces multiple charges after crashing a car and getting into a fight with family members.

State Police said Christopher W. Scully, 29, was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction, a felony, and third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

Police said they were dispatched around 10:20 p.m. Jan. 18 for a reported dispute.

An investigation found that Scully had been involved in a one-car crash on South Lake Drive. He attempted to remove the vehicle he was driving from a ditch with another vehicle, but wasn’t successful.

He then engaged in a fight with family members, causing minor injuries to two of them.

One of the victims called 911 and Scully fled the area prior to police arriving on the scene.

He was located on Rutland Drive and taken into custody.

The felony DWI charge is due to a previous DWI-related conviction from 2013.

Scully was arraigned in the Town of Patterson Court and sent to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 14.
