Pregnant Woman Punched While Driving In Southeast: Cops

A Danbury resident was her passenger, New York State Police said.

SOUTHEAST, NY — New York State Police arrested a Danbury man Thursday after a pregnant woman drove to the Brewster barracks to report she had been assaulted by her passenger.

She said Allen P. Bredbenner had repeatedly punched her in the face and stomach while they were driving. Troopers and investigators took him into custody in the parking lot.

The victim was taken to Putnam Hospital for evaluation.

Bredbenner, 35, was charged with Assault in the 3rd degree and Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd degree, both class A misdemeanors. He was arraigned before the town of Southeast Court and taken to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
