Putnam Cops Arrest Man with Licenses Suspended by Two Courts
failing to answer a summons and failing to pay a fine

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Putnam Valley man on a charge of allegedly driving with a suspended license.
At 12:05 p.m. Feb. 24, Deputy Sheriff Alfred Pizzuto observed a car with a brake light out travelling along Oscawana Lake Road in Putnam Valley. The deputy pulled the car over and identified the driver as Sean W. Willkens of 37 Spruce Mountain Drive in Putnam Valley.
The deputy ran a computer check on the 27-year-old’s license and learned that it was reportedly suspended twice in 2016, by two different courts, for failing to answer a summons and for failing to pay a fine, respectively.

Pizzuto arrested Wilkens and charged him with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and ticketed him for traffic infractions. The defendant was released on his own recognizance pending a March 16th appearance in the Putnam Valley Justice Court, where he could face up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $500 upon a conviction for the suspended driving charge.
