Putnam County Composite Squadron conducting sponsorship drive for Wreaths Across America Day

Civil Air Patrol unit in Carmel, NY conducting sponsorship drive to purchase wreaths for veterans graves in Raymond Hill Cemetery

Civil Air Patrol’s Putnam County Composite Squadron is conducting a wreath sponsorship drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at ShopRite, 184 Route 52, Carmel, New York. The squadron will place the wreaths on the graves of veterans in the Raymond Hill Cemetery, across from ShopRite, on Wreaths Across America Day which takes place on December 17, 2016.

As a key partner in Wreaths Across America, Civil Air Patrol ensures the sacrifices of our nation’s soldiers are not forgotten. By sponsoring one or more wreaths you honor local veterans for their service. A $15 sponsorship will pay for one wreath made of live greenery to be placed on a veteran's grave. There are approximately 400 veterans buried at the Raymond Hill Cemetery.

Putnam County Composite Squadron Commander, Captain Elena MacDermant, said wreaths can also be purchased online at www.WreathsAcrossAmerica.org through November 28, 2016. Online purchasers have to ensure they enter “NYRHCC” in the location code so wreaths are delivered to Raymond Hill Cemetery.
