Putnam To Hold Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Drop-Off Day
Get rid of paint thinners, pesticides, waste fuels, old batteries, fluorescent bulbs, methanol-tainted hand sanitizer and more.
PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — Putnam County will help residents dispose of hazardous waste this year. The Department of Health will hold a drop-off event at Fahnestock State Park for pre-registered residents.
What can you get rid of? A lot.

PROTOCOL:
- You must remain in your vehicle at all times.
- Place items in rearmost compartment of your vehicle.
- Keep your windows rolled up 3/4 of the way.
- Have license or other proof of ID ready for proof of residency.
- Have registration confirmation email ready.
- Workers will remove contents and will be in PPE.
- Wait times vary from 10-30 minutes depending on volume of cars. Please plan accordingly.
- No Commercial Establishments.
- Items in garbage or lawn bags will not be accepted.
