Putnam Man Dies at 52

 Stephen A. Mitchell, of Carmel, and formerly of Brewster, died Saturday in Danbury, CT. He was 52.

He was born May 20, 1959 in Ocean City, NJ, son of Janet (Mehall) Mitchell of Palm Harbor, FL and the late Reynolds Mitchell. Stephen graduated from Williamsport Loyalsock Township High School and Bloomburg University in PA, were he received a master's degree in business administration.

Stephen married Yolanda Pinilla in Queens on Oct. 1, 1988.

He was an executive vice president with City Group on Wall Street in Manhattan for eight years. He enjoyed tennis, often playing at the Carmel Fitness and Racquetball Club, and the Sports and Wellness Health Club in Danbury, CT.

Besides his mother Janet and his wife Yolanda of 23 years, Stephen is survived by his son, David Mitchell, and daughter Jennifer Mitchell, both of Carmel, NY; two sisters, Joan Warner and Susan Mitchell, both of Palm Harbor, FL; and his mother-in-law Carlota (Saavedra) Navarro of Colombia, South America.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at . Interment will be private. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home (1 Putnam Avenue in Brewster) from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
