Putnam Resources For Residents: Internet Connections, Shelters

Putnam County has created limited overnight accommodations for Putnam County residents who have been affected by the storm and remain without power. In addition, dry ice and water are available at three locations; and warming centers are open at six locations.
The County in partnership with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, the American Red Cross, Putnam Hospital Center and Garrison Fire Department will open two overnight facilities: The first at Putnam Hospital Center which is located at 670 Stoneleigh Avenue, Carmel, NY and the second at Garrison Fire Department located at 1616 Route 9, Garrison NY.
Both locations will open starting at 6 p.m. and remain open overnight for those residents who have no power and are unable to stay with friends or relatives.

Dry ice and water are available at the following locations:
- Patterson Recreation, 65 Front Street, Patterson NY until 6 p.m. tonight
- Town of Kent Police Department starting at 3 p.m. until supply is depleted
- Carmel Police Department 60 McAlpin Ave, Mahopac NY

- Town of Kent Town Hall, 25 Sybil’s Crossing, Kent Lakes NY
- German American Club 11 Kramer’s Pond Rd, Putnam Valley NY
- Patterson Recreation, 65 Front Street, Patterson, NY
These comfort facilities will be open from 9 am to 6 pm for residents to charge their electronic equipment and spend time in a warm environment.
"It makes me proud to have such great community partners like Putnam Hospital Center and Garrison FD who stepped up to help our residents in their time of need," said County Executive MaryEllen Odell. "Many other community agencies have provided assistance during this storm as well and we thank them too!"
Putnam County 9-1-1 remains fully manned and should be used for any emergency requests for Police, Fire or EMS. Please continue to monitor NY-Alert for updates
