Putnam Schedules Veterans Day Ceremonies, Veterans Forum

SOUTHEAST, NY — Veterans Day is Friday, and ceremonies are scheduled throughout Putnam County.

• 9:30 AM Kent Veterans Memorial, Terry Hill Road, Kent
• 10:15 AM Mahopac Post 5491 line up at VFW Post on East Lake Boulevard and proceed to monument. Service at 11 a.m. After the ceremony refreshments at Post Home.
• 10:30 AM Brewster Post 672 at Electrazone Field, Light Lunch at Post Home, 262 Peaceable Hill Rd.
• 11AM-11th Hour Ceremony Putnam County Memorial Hall, 32 Gleneida Ave., Carmel (Both held by VFW 1374, refreshments following 11 AM Ceremony)
• 11AM Town of Putnam Valley at Memorial Park at Town Hall.
• 11 AM VFW Putnam Lake at Monument in center of town.
• 11 AM Cold Spring at corner of 9D & 301 at monument.
• 1PM Putnam County Joint Veterans Council Ceremony at Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park.

Also, coming up is the Putnam County Veterans Task Force 4th Annual Legislative Forum. Elected officials on the national, state and county level have been invited.

The public is invited to the TOPS Center to support veterans legislation and issues that will be presented to those who make the laws.
