PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — Participants in the Putnam County Youth Court Program are hosting a ceremony to which all county residents are invited to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
The event is sponsored and funded by the Federal Agency AmeriCorps National Day of Service, and Global Youth Justice, Inc. In fact, it is one of only 25 Youth/Teen/Student/Peer Court and Peer Jury Diversion Programs in America to be highlighted for the 20th anniversary.
They're working with community volunteers including the Bureau of Emergency Services, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, the Putnam County Veterans Service Agency, the Carmel Fire Department, the Putnam County Youth Bureau and Youth Board, and representatives from Putnam County’s September 11th Candlelight Vigil Committee.

The ceremony will take place at the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services in Carmel and will begin at 8:46:40 a.m. to commemorate the time that Flight 11 crashed into the north face of the North Tower of the World Trade Center, between floors 93 and 99.
It will start with a moment of silence and the raising of the 9/11 Flag of Honor containing the names of those who died on that day. The ceremony will include the reading of names by Youth Court members.
