Ball to Present $100,000 Check for New Track at BSF Gala
It's been years since the Brewster team has been able to host a home meet.

The momentum is finally here.
State Sen. Greg Ball (R, C — Patterson) announced Friday night that he has secured $100,000 for a new facility, which officials estimate will cost roughly $250,000. According to Ball's release, Brewster Sports Foundation (BSF) President John Frates said the organization plans to raise the remainder of the funding through private fundraising.
Hundreds of Brewster students are involved with the track program, beginning at the modified level. The varsity boys team , while the girls team placed third. A group of students presented several petitions and letters in support of a new track to the Board of Education in December.

“In this economy, it’s critical that we do not pass this type of expense onto homeowners,” Ball said. “I also know that the lessons learned on the athletic field are just as important as those learned in the classroom. I support this investment and will continue pushing for projects that make our communities strong.”
