Snow to Affect Friday's Morning Commute: Putnam Weather

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather statement for the county.

The National Weather Service issued a statement for Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties Thursday morning:

Snow is expected to start early Friday, and while there won't be much of it, it could create hazardous travel conditions for the Friday morning commute, the NWS said.

But there won't be much of it.

"One last time… in a winter jam packed with miss… after miss… after miss, we’ll have… you guessed it, a miss," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "The storm doesn’t have enough things in its favor, to pull it up the coast for the Hudson Valley. Some light snow showers are expected Thursday night and Friday morning… which could certainly make for a tricky Friday AM commute. But the major storm stays out to sea… and the Hudson Valley misses out on another golden opportunity."

The NWS predicts less than an inch of snow will fall in all.
