Sobriety Check Nets Multiple Arrests in Carmel

State police said they will continue having DWI checkpoints through the summer.

Carmel, NY — New York State Police conducted a DWI Roadcheck in the Town of Carmel from late night Friday, July 1, into the early morning hours of Saturday, July 2.

Their effort to curb drunk driving during the holiday weekend, Troopers screened 96 cars, which resulted in one felony DWI arrest, two misdemeanor DWI arrests and three arrests for unlawful possession of marijuana.

State Police said they will continue these kind of efforts throughout the summer.
