Southeast Boaters: Do You Have Your Safety Certificate?
Everyone over 14 must take a safety class to operate a personal watercraft, everyone born after April 1996 needs one to operate a motorboat.

A Boater Safety class will be offered from 8AM to 4PM April 25 at the Bureau of Emergency Service Building, 110 Old Route 6, Carmel.
Persons who operate a personal watercraft over 14 years of age and motorboat operators born on or after May 1, 1996 are required to have this certificate.
You must be 10 years old to take the class.

There is no cost at the time of the class, however, to obtain the certificate after the class has been completed, persons above 18 years of age must mail their temporary receipt with a $10 check to the state. Youths 18 years of age and under receive the certificate free.
To register, fill out this form for each person attending. When the registration form is completed you will receive an email response. A separate form needs to be completed for each person.
