Why does your mom rock?

My Mom rocks, has always rocked, and will always rock. She was an athlete and a scholar with an advanced degree in the 1940s, an unusual feat. She always encouraged her 6 children, and numerous visiting friends and cousins, to explore, investigate the world, get dirty, ask the questions. She grew inquiring minds and healthy bodies. We were allowed to catch snakes, frogs, or salamanders and bring them home. We’d find an interesting flower, rock or bone, bring it home and try to identify it. We could explore different areas of interest & always had her support, with which her children have become lawyers, doctors, a nurse and a social worker. She is beloved by family and friends, a unique and precious gift.
