Southeast's Weather: Snow, Rain Storms, Arctic Blast

BREWSTER, NY — A little snowstorm Monday brought one to two inches of snow to many Hudson Valley communities across Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

"This is a minor winter event… but the first few of the season always generate the biggest headaches, as many of us re-learn how to handle the winter weather," said Alex Marra of Hudson Valley Weather.

And we better learn fast.

"We have an extremely active period of weather ahead of us, there is an ever increasing threat of multiple winter storms over the next 7-10 days," he said.

Cloudy this morning...then becoming mostly sunny. A chance of light rain. Light snow likely this morning. Little or no additional snow accumulation. Highs in the mid 40s. South winds around 5 mph...becoming west this afternoon. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.
