Speed Stop on I-84 Ends in Felony Charge
The 28-year-old also gave a false name, state police said.

New York State Police arrested Jeffrey Thelfort of Brooklyn for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor, and Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Troopers stopped a vehicle on Interstate 84 for speeding on June 3. The driver, later identified as Thelfort, supplied troopers with a fictitious name.
Police discovered that his driver’s license was suspended. Thelfort was also found to be impaired by drugs.
The 28-year-old was sent to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to the Town of Kent Court on June 16.
