State Cop Helps Woman Give Birth on I-84
He saw a car enter the emergency U-turn and went to check on it ....

Trooper Christopher Liebler was patrolling Interstate 84 March 11 when he saw a Honda Accord enter an emergency vehicle u-turn.
Liebler followed the Honda and conducted a welfare check on its occupants. He quickly learned that the front seat passenger was in labor.
The police version is a rather dry summary of what the actual conversation must have been like: "Following an interview of the driver, Trooper Liebler quickly learned that the front seat passenger of the Honda was in labor."

Liebler immediately contacted Putnam County 911 and requested EMS to respond to the scene. However, before the Kent Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived, he had assisted the Hopewell Junction woman to deliver -- a healthy baby girl.
The baby, named Emma, was transported with her mother, to Danbury Hospital by Kent Volunteer Ambulance, police said.
