Dodged A Bullet: Brewster's Weekend Weather
Here are the latest details on the out-of-season nor'easter and the change to its impacts around Southeast.

BREWSTER, NY â The nor'easter that was the subject of Thursday's Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service has altered course just a bit. That means it will likely stay south of the Hudson Valley.
The storm, rare for late July according to Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist, will deliver drenching rain and miserable conditions to a large part of the mid-Atlantic and southern coast of New England at the start of the weekend. Airline delays are possible from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia, New York City, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. And if you're headed to the beach, know that winds are expected to pick up along the mid-Atlantic and New England coasts on Saturday and remain brisk through Sunday. The stiff breeze will add to the coolness of the air for a time and create rough surf and strong rip currents.

According to the NWS: Rain will overspread the region from the southwest beginning around sunset. Rain will then continue overnight before starting to taper off late Saturday morning. The highest rainfall totals are expected to be across northeastern New Jersey, New York City, and Long Island, where up to an inch of rain is possible.

But for the Hudson Valley the chances of rain have dropped to 50 percent Friday night and Saturday.
"Friday and Saturday will likely turn out better than many were expecting," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "As we move into Friday night, it should remain mostly cloudy and comfortably cool, with lows in the low 60s. This should set up a rather nice weekend. We should see clouds giving way to increasing sunshine on Saturday, with cool highs around 80°⌠maybe a little cooler on Saturday, depending on how much sun we get. Either way⌠if you have outdoor plans this weekend, youâre going to be in good shape."
