Students Do 17,896 Hours of Service

MAHOPAC -- Forty-four Mahopac High School seniors participated in more than 300 hours of community service this year, providing 17,896 hours of aid to local schools, hospitals, camps, organizations and activities such as the Mahopac Sports Association and Relay for Life.

A graduation requirement since the class of 2004, service learning has become a part of the school and community culture. Students are required to do more than 60 hours in an approved service. More than 50 organizations are listed as approved on the school’s counseling website.
