Summer Adventure: Putnam Libraries Passport Program

Pick up your passport, then travel to each library for a summer souvenir and to be entered in a raffle.

(Carol Donick)

from the Kent Public Library

Putnam County's eight public libraries have created a way to encourage people to explore our county's libraries and experience some of the fun of traveling without having to get on an airplane. Make our libraries your summer destination!

Anyone over the age of 18 can pick up a library passport in any Putnam County library. We ask that you just get one passport per person for the summer. When you pick up your passport, the library where you pick it up will stamp it, give you a summer souvenir such as a tote bag, water bottle, notepad or box of mints, and ask you to fill out a raffle ticket.

The passport gives you the addresses and websites of all of the Putnam County libraries. Bring your passport with you when you visit other libraries. . At each one, they will stamp it, give you their summer souvenir, and ask you to fill out a raffle ticket. Take the time to look around the library. Each library is different, with different things to offer. You can use your Putnam County library card to check out items in any of the libraries, and return them to the one most convenient for you.

During the week of September 5, each library will pull a raffle ticket for their grand prize, which is a gift certificate for an attraction or restaurant in their town. The grand prizes include gift certificates to Cutillo's Restaurant in Kent, the Town Square Restaurant in Patterson, the Riverview Restaurant in Cold Spring, Savor Ristorante in Mahopac, Carmel Cinema in Carmel, and the Red Rooster in Brewster. The more libraries you have visited, the more chances you have to win.
