Two Injured in Crash on Danbury Road

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly before noon.

Two women were reportedly taken to Danbury Hospital Thursday following a two-car accident at the intersection of Routes 6 and 121 in Southeast.

Members of the Brewster Fire Department (BFD) and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office were on the scene shortly before noon. Responders with the BFD told Patch that an elderly woman was extricated from one of the vehicles, a silver, four-door Mercury sedan; and that a 22-year-old woman traveling in a black, two-door Honda Civic suffered minor head injuries. 

Ambulances transported both to the hospital around 12:15 p.m., while officials worked on clearing the scene. Representatives from the Sheriff's Office were unavailable for comment at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Westbound traffic on Route 6, also known as Danbury Road, was diverted into the right lane and partially onto the shoulder. Eastbound traffic was diverted around the crash via Route 121, also known as Peach Lake Road.
