
Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the recent arrests of motorists on DWI charges.
On June 1 at 12:10 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Kevin Radovich stopped a woman who had committed traffic violations on Route 301 in Carmel. The deputy concluded that the driver, identified as Jessica A. Windels, 43, of 671 Farmers Mills Road, Kent was intoxicated. He arrested Windels and charged her with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after the woman failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. She was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.
On June 5 at 3:55 a.m., Radovich stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Route 6 in Southeast. The deputy concluded that the driver, identified as Rossy M. Polanco-Detaveras , 27, of 12 Cleveland Street, Danbury, Connecticut was intoxicated. He arrested Polanco-Detaveras and charged her with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after the woman failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. She was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignement.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, each could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00 for each charge.
