EXPIRED: When Will Storms Hit Putnam County?
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.

The National Weather Service has issued a weather watch for Putnam, Rockland and Westchester:
“The atmosphere will continue to destabilize as moisture moves through the Hudson Valley,” according to New York State Severe Weather Alerts. “By early afternoon, breaks in the clouds will allow strong heating. This will result in organized severe storms, with wind shear and unidirectional wilds causing updrafts and a supercell tornado potential. As the system pulls away, deep layer shear will decrease, but then support the development of severe multicell line segments capable of damaging straightline winds and large hail.”
