Visitation, Mass for John Fitzsimons

John J. Fitzsimons 77, of Brewster, NY, died December 12, 2016 at his home.

John was born on October 8, 1939 in Manhattan, NY to Patrick and Molly (Brabacon) Fitzsimons. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and attended New York Tech in Westbury, LI, NY.

John was predeceased by his wife Patricia M. Lancelotti on August 4, 2005.

John was a detective with the NYPD out of Queens, NY. Following his years with the NYPD, John was a medical investigator with Blue Cross & Blue Shield.

John was drawn to people in need. He was involved with many community programs that greatly helped others.

John is survived by his three children, John J. Fitzsimons of North Salem, NY, Patricia Fitzsimons (Karen) of Suffern, NY and Thomas Fitzsimons (Debbie) of Wesley Chapel, FL; a step-son, Paul Raffone of Yorktown Hgts., NY; two brothers, Patrick Fitzsimons of Seattle, WA and Robert Fitzsimons of Huntley, IL; 6 grandchildren, Kelly, Matthew, Thomas Jr., Kayla, Tyler and Kassidy. He was pre-deceased by a brother Richard Fitzsimons.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 16, 2016 10AM at St. James ‘The Apostle’ Church, Carmel, NY. Interment will follow at St. Charles ‘The Resurrection’ Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
