
Ezio “Pete” Casagrande, age 96, of Brewster, NY died peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.
Pete was born in Mahopac, NY on July 4, 1921 to the late Eugenio and Laurina (Paniconi) Casagrande.
He graduated from Mahopac High School in 1939 and Rider University in 1942, with a Bachelor’s Degree
in Business, where he was a member and treasurer of the Kappa Phi Fraternity. He then joined the
Army Air Force and served in England during World War II.
On June 14, 1947 he married Jane Laurens at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. He has been a resident of
Brewster for 70 years.

Pete was an accountant at Camarco Contracting and then Schipp Construction Company in Mahopac,
NY, until 1994, when he retired at age 72. He was a member of the Brewster VFW and St. Andrew’s
Episcopal Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and spent many days tending to
his home and gardens by his wife’s side. His nights were spent watching his favorite baseball team, the
NY Yankees. He was a kind, caring man that was generous and supportive of those he loved. He will be
greatly missed.
Pete is survived by his wife Jane L., his children; Paul E. Casagrande of Brewster, NY and Margaret
Casagrande (Russell Nelson) of Fort Lee, NJ; his grandchildren; Paul O (Laurie) of Kent Lakes, NY and
Peter O (Lisa) of Pawling, NY, his great grandchildren; Carr and Caitlyn of Kent Lakes, NY; his nephews
and cousins of Mahopac, NY. He is predeceased by his sister Nina Simone.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pete’s memory may be made to the Brewster VFW, St. Andrew’s
Episcopal Church or Rider University.
Calling hours are Friday 3-7pm at Beecher Funeral Home with a funeral service on Saturday at 10am at st. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Brewster.
