Visitation, Service for Helen S. McCahill

Helen S. McCahill, of Brewster, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday October 5, 2017. She was 94 years old.

Mrs. McCahill was born on December 5, 1922 in Queens, NY, daughter to the late Gilbert and Helen (Suttlehan) Schrader. On February 7, 1948 she married the love of her life John ‘Jack’ McCahill. Jack predeceased his wife on November 29, 1989.

Helen was a file clerk with the Putnam County Finance Department for 20 years before retiring. She was also a Eucharistic minister at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, NY.

Helen enjoyed flower gardens and traveling, but her greatest joy was found in spending time with her family. They were truly the center of her world.

Helen is survived by her seven children; Jacqueline Angioletti (Robert) of Wappingers Falls, NY, Susan McCahill of Brewster, NY, Michael McCahill (Heather) of North Salem, NY, Helen Russo (Joseph) of White Plains, NY, Judith Meyer (Robert) of Patterson, NY, Timothy McCahill of Brewster, NY, and Kathleen Campbell (Mark) of Pawling, NY, her 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday October 17, 2017 at 10am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery. Friends and family may call the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Monday October 16, 2017 from 4pm-8pm/

In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Helen may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association and/or The Seeing Eye, Inc.
