William J. Dwyer, Jr. a lifelong resident of Brewster, NY, died on August 17, 2018 at Putnam Hospital Center. He was 92 years old.
Born on February 6, 1926 in Danbury, CT, son of William J. and Edna (Sheridan) Dwyer. Bill graduated in 1943 from Brewster High School. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946. Following his service in the Navy he worked for NYSEG becoming a chief Lineman, before retiring in 1986 after 40 years.

On August 21, 1960 he married the love of his life Barbara Ferris in Brewster, NY.
Bill was an active parishioner and usher of St. Lawrence O’ Toole Church in Brewster, NY. He enjoyed golfing, attending football at West Point and spending time at Mohegan Sun. Bill was also a past member of the Brewster BPO Elks and an avid Yankees fan.

Mr. Dwyer is not only survived by his loving wife Barbara of 58 years, but also his two daughters; Karen Visca of Newtown, CT and Tony Visca of Milford, CT and Kim Kunkle and her husband Randy of Wilmington, DE, and his five grandchildren; Jenna and Jessica Visca and Alyson, John and Sarah Kunkle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY, on Monday August 20, 2018 at 10am. A private cremation will follow.
Friends and family may call the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Sunday August 19, 2018 from 2pm-6pm.
