Water Main Break In Brewster

BREWSTER, NY — Village officials have sent residents a warning about the side-effects of a water main break on Riverside Drive.

Village Water - Emergency Water Service Disruption - Water Main Break due to workers on the Peaceable Hill Water District system: The Village water main has been broken on Riverside Drive. Expect discolored water for a period of time yet to be determined due to the turbulence caused by the line break.
The line is being repaired but the discoloration may remain for 12 to 24 hours.
The discoloration is not a health hazard but you should refrain from washing clothes and other household chores.
If your clothes get discolored do not dry them and obtain a product called "Iron Out" which should remove the discoloration from the clothes.
