Weekend Forecast: Go Outside!

Seasonable weather, that’s what’s in store, including the inevitable April showers and the temperature swings from chilly to steamy.

“Things improve as Friday wears on… things will dry out, and a few peeks of afternoon sun are possible,” says Bill Potter at Hudson Valley Weather. “ But the REAL winner is going to be Saturday… where the only question is, just how warm does it get.”

But don’t pack away the long-sleeves and fleece just yet, says AccuWeather.com.

According to Paul Pastelok, AccuWeather.com chief long-range meteorologist, “For weeks we have been forecasting another spell of chilly weather for the Northeast and much of the Midwest during the latter part of April.”

We’ll see some of that by Monday.

Here’s the National Weather Service’s forecast for Brewster:

• Tonight-A chance of showers, mainly after 3am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 48. South wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
• Friday-Showers likely, mainly before 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 68. Southwest wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Friday Night-Mostly clear, with a low around 42. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
• Saturday-Sunny, with a high near 73. Breezy, with a northwest wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 16 to 21 mph in the afternoon.
• Saturday Night-Mostly clear, with a low around 42.
• Sunday-Partly sunny, with a high near 59.
• Sunday Night-A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Monday-Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 55. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
