Weekend Weather Forecast for Southeast Includes Chance of Showers, Thunderstorms

We could wish that today’s forecast is what we’d end up with for Saturday.

Before we get to the weekend though, we’re looking at a picture perfect weather day on Friday with sunny skies and temps around 70 degrees.

Saturday kicks off the weekend with showers and thunderstorms possible early in the morning, and then it will be mostly warm and cloudy for the remainder of the day.

But the sun reappears on Sunday, and a lovely day is forecast with high temperatures in the upper 70s.

“Not as warm as last week… but highs this weekend should still flirt with 80°,” said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

Here’s the National Weather Service forecast for Brewster:

• Tonight-Patchy frost after 4am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 38. Light southwest wind.
• Friday-Mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.
• Friday Night-A chance of showers between midnight and 3am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. South wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
• Saturday-A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Saturday Night-A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Sunday-Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.
• Sunday Night-Partly cloudy, with a low around 55.
• Monday-Partly sunny, with a high near 72.
