Closing early on Wednesday
- Brewster village and court offices close at 1 p.m.
- Brewster Public Library closes at noon.
Closed Thursday
- Brewster schools (they reopen Jan. 5)
- Brewster Public Library
- Southeast Town Hall
- Brewster Village & Court offices
- Putnam County government offices
- U.S. government offices
- U.S. Post offices
- New York state offices, including the Department of Motor Vehicles
Open or continuing as usual on Thursday
- Many stores and other businesses — you can search StoreBusinessHours.com for their directory of holiday closings by store or search individual store websites or call them if you’re unsure.
- Banks in New York have the option of remaining open on state holidays. TD Bank branches in the state will remain open, including nearby branches at 96 Gleneida Ave. in Carmel and 915 S. Lake Blvd. in Mahopac. (TD Bank closes for fewer holidays than nearly any other bank. Thanksgiving Day and Christmas are the last two holidays of the year that the bank will close.)
