Winter Weather Advisory Expands for the Hudson Valley Thursday

Snow could have an impact on the morning commute.

More of the Hudson Valley is under a Winter Weather Advisory Thursday.

The National Weather Service issued an advisory for Orange and Putnam counties in effect from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday.

Snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are possible, the weather service said, with the highest amounts across northern portions of the two counties, as well as higher elevations.

Hazardous travel conditions are expected during the morning commute.

Eastern Ulster County and all of Dutchess County remain under a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 7 a.m. Thursday until 7 a.m. Friday.

The NWS said 2 to 5 inches of accumulating snow could be expected, with 3 to 6 inches across the higher terrain of the Taconic.
