Winter Weather Advisory, Hazardous Outlook Issued for Putnam County

Details on Sunday's forecast of snow mixed with sleet, maybe some rain

The National Weather Service has posted a Winter Weather Advisory for Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties for a storm that could last all day Sunday.

Now this snowfall's is forecast to be worse to the north, unlike Thursday's storm — the National Weather Service Albany NY has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Delaware, Columbia, Greene, Ulster and Dutchess counties.

The storm will develop into a major nor'easter, but not till it's moving out of the region, said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "The Hudson Valley will miss out on the major nor’easter impacts, but parts of the area could still experience 6″ or more of snow and sleet… and see some strong winds as the storm departs."

The dividing line looks to be, as usual, I-84....but that could change, Potter said.
