Workers Repair Pillars at Historic Putnam County Courthouse
Those pillars were added during a renovation in 1847.

CARMEL, NY — As the second oldest county courthouse still in use in New York State, it’s no surprise that the Putnam County Courthouse requires structural repairs from time to time, county officials said.
On Nov. 14, 2016, Putnam Highway Department workers, Joe Murdock, Justyn Lewis and Mark Semo, repaired pillars, which were added to the Courthouse during an 1847 renovation.
