• S-GI board hears updates on start of school year, SHS dropoff, regents requirements (springvillejournal.com) — Springville-Griffith Institute families are being asked to follow a new two-lane morning dropoff pattern at Springville High School, while breakfast and lunch prices for second meals and adults are now set for 2026-27. The board also reviewed a smooth school-year start, explained upcoming changes to Regents graduation requirements, approved a school resource officer agreement, and scheduled its next meeting at Springville Middle School on Oct. 20. 
• Two charged after deputies recover cocaine, illegal weapon from Springville apartment (springvillejournal.com) — Deputies executed a search warrant at a Park Street apartment in Springville, arresting two local residents after finding an illegal loaded handgun, suspected cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. The Erie County Sheriff’s Office says both face multiple felony drug charges, while one is additionally accused of resisting arrest and tampering with evidence before being taken to the county holding center.
• Griffin girls swimming remains undefeated after home-opener victory (springvillejournal.com) — Springville-Griffith’s girls swim team has surged to a 3-0 start after dominating Depew in their home opener, with multiple Griffins posting personal-best times.
