Brooklyn Man Arrested For Brutal Sunset Park Murder, Cops Say

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — A Brighton Beach man has been charged with the brutal stabbing another man on a Sunset Park street corner, according to police.

Rogelio Vasquez, 31, stands accused of murdering Miguel Garcia, 25, on the corner of 59th Street and Sixth Avenue at about 9:55 a.m. Thursday morning, police said.

Vasquez was arrested and charged with murder on Sunday morning, three days after police found Garcia lying on the sidewalk with stab wounds on his neck, chest and head, city records show.

Police believe Vasquez smashed a beer bottle over Garcia’s head then used it to stab him after an argument in a livery cab, according to a Daily News report.

The Brighton Beach man is slated to be arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Monday, according to city records.
