Brooklyn NYPD Officer Told Cops To Shoot 50 Cent: Report

A Sunset Park commander is under investigation after he reportedly told cops to "shoot him on sight" when the rapper was visiting Brooklyn.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn precinct's commanding officer is under review after reportedly telling cops to shoot 50 Cent when he was visiting the borough, and the story has sent the rapper into an online tirade.

Deputy Inspector Emanuel Gonzalez, who commands Sunset Park's 72nd Precinct, allegedly told officers back in June that if they see the rapper they should "shoot him on sight," police sources told The New York Post. The message was given during roll call the same day 50 Cent, aka Curis James, was in town to watch the Bronx Smoker, an NYPD boxing tournament.

NYPD has said “the matter is under internal review.”

But the Post and Daily News stories about the incident were apparently the first time the rapper had heard about the threat. Since the news broke, 50 Cent has been using his Instagram to speak out against Gonzalez, and said he might consider legal action.

"This guy Emanuel Gonzales is a dirty cop abusing his POWER," 50 Cent posted. "The sad part is this man still has a badge and a gun."

50 Cent said he was concerned that the NYPD had not told him about the threat earlier. He continued to post photos of Gonzalez, calling him a "gangsta" with a badge.

This isn't the first time the rapper and commanding officer have feuded. 50 Cent previously clashed with Gonzalez about a shuttered hip-hop and strip Club Love and Lust, which a lawsuit claimed was unfairly discriminated against by the NYPD precinct.

Both 50 Cent and Cardi B, who once worked there, both came in defense of the club and owner Imran Jairam. But 50 Cent was placed under investigation for his posts, where he used the phrase "get the strap," which refers to getting a gun.

The rapper has continued to use the phrase about Gonzalez in his posts this week.
