Man Charged in Woodbury Crash That Critically Injured 10-Year-Old Girl

The two-vehicle crash occurred Tuesday night, police say.

WOODBURY, NY - A Huntington man faces DWI and vehicular assault charges after he was involved in a two-car crash that left a 10-year-old girl critically injured in Woodbury on Tuesday night, Nassau Police said.

According to police, 59-year-old Eugene Golden was driving a Mercedes-Benz SUV north on Woodbury Road when it collided with a Nissan that was heading south on Woodbury Road at 9:38 p.m.

The accident occurred in front of 367 Woodbury Road near the intersection of Winthrop Drive.

The Nissan was occupied by a 43-year-old woman and her 10-year-old daughter. The child suffered a head injury and is listed in critical condition at a hospital, police said.

Both drivers were transported to area hospitals for treatment and are listed in stable condition, police said.

Golden will be arraigned when medically practical, police said.
