15-Year-Old Charged With Burglarizing Syosset Barber Shop: Police

The arrest was made on Wednesday.

SYOSSET, NY - A 15-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday for smashing the front door of a barber shop in Syosset last month, according to Nassau Police.

The teen, along with another unidentified person who has not yet arrested, smashed the front glass door of Fred’s Barber Shop on 51 Jackson Avenue on Sept. 21, police said.

The two searched through several drawers and a cash register looking for cash. There were no proceeds.

After an investigation, detectives arrested the teen at his home on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

He is being charged with third degree burglary and third degree criminal mischief, police said.

He will appear in Nassau County Family Court in Westbury at a later date.
