16-Year-Old In Critical Condition After Hit By Car Riding Bike In Nassau County: Police

The teen suffered severe head trauma and was taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical condition, police said.

SYOSSET, NY — A 16-year-old boy was severely injured Sunday morning when he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike in Syosset, according to police.

The incident occurred about 10:45 a.m., Nassau County police said. The boy was riding north on South Oyster Bay Road and was hit by a southbound 2017 Nissan turning east onto the Long Island Expressway Service Road, according to police.

The teen suffered severe head trauma and was taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical condition, police said. The driver, a 54-year-old man, remained at the scene, according to police, who said the homicide squad is investigating.
