2 Firefighters Injured In Jericho House Fire, Eye Injury: FD
The 2nd floor of the home partially collapsed, and 1 firefighter was taken to the hospital with an eye injury, fire marshals say.
JERICHO, NY — Two firefighters were injured after a Jericho house fire on Tuesday, the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.
The Jericho Fire Department responded to a two-story home on Bounty Lane after receiving a call at 4:39 p.m., fire marshals said.
The fire was on the second floor, extending through the roof, and causing a partial collapse of the second floor, fire marshals said. Smoke detectors were present in the home and did activate, fire officials said.

According to fire marshals, two firefighters sustained injuries – one was treated at the scene, and the second suffered an eye injury and was transported to a hospital.
Approximately 100 firefighters placed the fire under control within an hour, fire officials said. Mutual aid was provided by Syosset, Hicksville, Bethpage, Westbury, and Plainview, all under the command of Chief Ketsoglou, fire marshals said.

One adult was displaced, and the fire is being investigated by the NCFM's Office and the NCPD Arson/Bomb Squad, fire marshals said.
