7 Syosset Elementary Schools Rank Among State's Best

Niche.com ranked the top 100 elementary schools in New York.

All seven elementary schools in the Syosset Central School District were ranked among the top 100 public elementary schools in New York, based on new rankings of the best schools in the state from Niche.com.

Here’s how they placed:

  • South Grove Elementary School— No. 24
  • Village Elementary School— No. 26
  • J. Irving Baylis School Elementary School (Plainview)— No. 32
  • Robbins Lane Elementary School— No. 42
  • Berry Hill Elementary School— No. 44
  • Willits Elementary School— No. 47
  • Walt Whitman Elementary School (Woodbury)— No. 59

Another school in Syosset, West Side School in the Cold Spring Harbor Central School District, made the list at No. 46.

A school in the Jericho School District is the highest ranked school in Nassau County and New York State.

According to Niche, a high ranking indicates that “students are happy with their experiences in all aspects, especially academics, teachers, and diversity,” “the school is an exceptional academic institution in terms of teachers, students, resources for learning, and student outcomes,” and “the school is made up of a diverse population and fosters an accepting, positive school culture.”
